Our first blog post

Hi everyone! Ningwei and I have been meaning to start this blog for awhile now. We have traveled around the world, and according to Ningwei’s travel tracker, he’s visited 45 distinct countries and territories. I had to double check with him just now to make sure that was accurate, but here are the countries that he (and some of them I) have been to:

Some people ask how we have the time to do these trips. The short answer is, we don’t really have the time – on average, we spend really only about a couple of days per city, and we end up visiting a lot of these places during our layovers to other countries. We typically will do one “big” two week trip and hit up several countries at once. For some of the nearer countries (and it’s all relative what’s considered nearer), we will visit over a three to four day weekend. There are obviously drawbacks to this, but we find ourselves fortunate that we can at least afford these trips, and we maintain regular full time jobs while traveling the world with this method.

In summary, this blog is going to be a compilation of all our travels. We will try to be timely with our posts, although a lot of our posts in the beginning are going to be recollections of past trips. We will include tips and tricks, including getting the best bang for your miles, sights to see, foods to eat, and hotels to stay. I also will post some homemade food recipes, inspired by our trips abroad. Let us know in the comments below what you want to see us post first. Stay tuned!
