Hello! This is a short but sweet review of Cathay Pacific The Pier First Class Lounge, located in the Hong Kong International Airport.

Cathay Pacific is one of our favorite airlines, and the Cathay Pacific lounges in the Hong Kong airport are some of the best we’ve used. In order to have access to at minimum the Cathay Pacific Business Class Lounges, you have to qualify with one of the following:

  1. Business class flight on Cathay Pacific
  2. OneWorld Executive Platinum status and a flight on Cathay Pacific (can be economy/regular fare)

In order to have access to the Cathay Pacific First Class Lounges, similarly you have to qualify with one of the following:

  1. First class flight on Cathay Pacific
  2. OneWorld Emerald status and a flight on Cathay Pacific (can be economy/regular fare)

You may also bring up to one guest with you into either the Business or First Class Lounges. Cathay Pacific has 4 Business Class Lounges and 2 First Class Lounges at Hong Kong International Airport. The website lists them out:

The Pier First Class Lounge is located near gates 61-63 in Terminal 1. Definitely keep in mind that the Hong Kong airport is quite long, so if you have a flight in a gate far away from this area, plan ahead and keep track of the time! We usually like to arrive the airport a couple of hours early so that we can enjoy the benefits of the lounge without having to rush. The Pier provides the following amenities:

  1. Private day suites
  2. Shower cabanas
  3. Pantry with snacks and refreshments
  4. Dining area
  5. Bar
  6. Massage and spa
  7. Secluded work suites

Entrance:

Day Suite:

Big enough to accommodate two people, the day suites are supposed to be used for napping or reading quietly. You may also bring in food and drinks from the Pantry or Bar areas. The suites also boasts views of the airplanes on the tarmac.

The Bureau:

A nice quiet area to get some work done. Each desk (not pictured) has dividers on either side for extra seclusion.

The Pantry:

The Pantry area is filled with snacks, both savory and sweet, along with soft drinks, juices, coffee, and tea.

The Lounge:

If you don’t feel like getting a private day suite, there is plenty of comfortable seating with views of the tarmac.

The Bar:

The bar is well stocked, although I didn’t get a chance to look at the type of liquor they had. Rest assured you can probably order any type of standard cocktail.

The Dining Room

This was my favorite part of the whole lounge. The Dining Room provides a menu of items that you can order a la carte, and you can order as many as you’d like. We ended up ordering a wagyu burger, pho, fruit plate, a cocktail, and a Hong Kong Milk Tea.

Well we hope you enjoyed our review of Cathay Pacific’s The Pier First Class Lounge! Let us know if you have any questions or comments!
